about
In 1996, Eric Kassel (The Magnolias, Crossing Guards, The Beatifics, Jessy Greene, The Whirligigs) put together a rag-tag group of musicians and wrote a handful of songs to play at a one-off gig for Raleigh's Burrito Bash at the Turf Club. That night, the world was introduced to instant classics like "Burrito Queen of the Midway," "Crotch Rockets Theme Song," and the song that graces this compilation, "Rob Rule Theme Song."
Recorded 15 years later for this compilation by Eric Kassel, Dave Wiegardt (The Magnolias, Tulip Sweet, Mammy Nuns) and Kent Militzer (The Magnolias, Luminarios, Stingray Green, 60 Cycle Hum).

LYRICS:
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
And if you want me you'll know where to find me
I'm here almost every night
And if you need me you won't have to look for me
It's where I wanna spend my life
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
After the show let's go smoke out in the Smolo
Stay up 'till the morning light
Behind the soundboard there's no way I could get bored
It's where I wanna spend my life
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
Hanging out at the Turf
I'll be hanging out at the Turf Club baby
And if you want me you'll know where to find me
I'm here almost every night
And if you need me you won't have to look for me
It's where I wanna spend my life
I'm its husband it's my wife
If I could sleep with it I might
